Terry Grevious
2018
Terry Grevious has been the director and driving force behind two world-class air shows and provided valuable examples and direction to other shows working to improve and professionalize their events for 34 years. In his capacity as airport director, he created the Muskegon Air Fair in 1984 as a tool to promote the airport. He combined a strong background in business with a unique brand of air show innovation to turn the event into one of the strongest air shows in North America. Recognizing his community’s interest in an evening event, he launched one of the air show industry’s earliest and most successful night shows in Muskegon. Combining night acts with fireworks and live music, the Friday Night Pre-Flight Party introduced a new demographic to air show entertainment and provided a template for other shows to follow. In 2000, ICAS held its first Academy program in Muskegon to help other shows learn from the thorough planning and professional execution for which the show had developed a worldwide reputation. In 2004, Terry and his team took over management of the Dayton Air Show in Ohio, introducing many of the same innovations and processes that had helped make Muskegon so successful. His leadership during the last 14 years has helped to position Dayton as one of our industry’s most consistently excellent events. For his innovation, the leadership he has provided as an air show businessman and his many innovations and successes during a 34-year career as an air show professional, the ICAS Foundation is proud to induct Terry Grevious into the Air Show Hall of Fame.
