Neil “Bud” Granley

Neil “Bud” Granley built a national reputation as a skilled aviator during an air show career that spanned portions of seven decades. A former Royal Canadian Air Force fighter pilot and longtime airline captain, Bud is renowned for his ability to master anything with wings, from the T-6 Harvard and Fouga Magister to the Yak 50 and Yak 55 to the Supermarine Spitfire, P-51 Mustang and P-40 Warhawk. He was recognized by his peers for his flying and entertainment talents with the prestigious Art Scholl and Bill Barber showmanship awards. Beyond his skill and showmanship as a performer, Granley has also been an influential leader in the air show community. He helped to create the Northwest Council of Air Shows. He served on the ICAS Board and as ACE Committee chair. And he has worked as a mentor for countless numbers of new performers beginning early in his career.
